Singularity - A Tipping Point

When speed outruns wisdom, fast becomes the longest route.

Hey Peeps.

Last month, I have not posted any blog. I'm back today — not with an experiment, but with something that will fuel your next conversation about AI.

I am sure; you all also must be getting worried about every weekend what Mr. Trump is going to do this week and what would be war situation.

Meanwhile, AI has been almost side-lined from hard-core news & slowly becoming a topic which has been always there just like software. AI is now settling down.

But it doesn't mean that AI is going to have any less impact on our jobs, daily life and future of humans.

AI is moving in bullet-train speed to "Singularity".

I am not sure, if you have heard about this term before or not.

What does it mean?

Basically, A point where AI is more intelligent than Human cognitively.

So let’s discuss first; why some folks like Elon Musk feels that it has been achieved already:

  • Kind of code AI is generating - Claude employee saying he’s generating all code of Claude from Claude code itself

  • Kind of reports AI & excel model can make

  • Kind of research and new pattern finding, new evidence in forensic

  • Kind of discovery in health due to AI

(These are news, you must have already read)

Against the Algorithm — My Take

Based on my experience and experiments, AI may have reached singularity but only on few task which is namely summarizing, drafting, making models and image generation or analysis of image and some of it also because of quantum of it

For e.g. if I ask human to analyse 200 pages and provide summary; human could take probably 3 days but if he/she is an expert of field, they will give better results than what AI do it in seconds.

"The illusion of time saved precedes the value created by AI"

So, it’s not only about intelligence only but also speed and volume.

Singularity of AI can be achieved in speed and volume definitely; but the depth and context will always be subjective based on input and user's context.

The next thing which we human has over AI is; Adaptability.

Humans adapt to the situation and doesn’t always require training of the scenario; we are pretty good at discovering things or doing things for first time.

But for AI, it has to be trained model on past data and past scenario; if the task is something never heard of or written; it will start hallucinate. Infact, I have experienced AI to be more stubborn than Human in some cases, even if instruction are clear and simple.

Lastly, consistency & control,

You ask a human question, we will give same answer and we are not running probability scenario every time.

As a human, we have some natural guardrails as well as legal consequences while we perform some tasks or to say limits; which we adhere. Whereas, AI with full access has deleted complete database, removed base code without asking; which makes it less reliable in controlled environment.

From overall perspective, "The Human Layer" is going to be most precious element in every task of future to make AI work reliable and consistent.
