Learning Loop 1 - 2026

Role of AI Model, Tone & Getting Started with Claude

Hey Peeps,

Last year, many of you followed the Learning Loop series with incredible curiosity and consistency.

For 2026, I’m bringing it back — sharper, more intentional, and packed with real-world AI experiments, practical insights, and simplified learning.

Hope you all had a legendary long weekend and managed to recharge a little.

Now, it’s time for your bi-weekly dose of AI learning.

Let’s dive in.

Core AI Role Architecture

To understand any machine, we should first understand what kind of function it can perform.

Since AI is here to augment human thinking, the functions it performs should be directly cognitively similar to those of a human

I have put together a list to help you better understand which functions are being performed when you write a prompt:

Core Role

Main Function

Human Brain Equivalent

Perception

Understand input

Senses

Memory

Store/retrieve context

Long-term memory

Reasoning

Think logically

Thinking

Planning

Break tasks into steps

Executive function

Decisioning

Choose best action

Judgment

Execution

Perform action

Motor system

Reflection

Check/improve output

Self-awareness

Learning

Improve over time

Learning

Communication

Interact with humans/systems

Language

Coordination

Manage multiple processes

Nervous system

Why it matters: Because this is the “Why” behind the AI output.

For example, if you are prompting a task that requires double assurance, you need to ask the AI to use the Reflection function on its answer.

If you read answer carefully; answer with reflection function is much better than generic answer without reflection.

Try more functions/ core role in your next prompts.

Tone - How you want GPT to draft

Ever stared at your screen thinking, “I know what I feel… but how do I say this professionally or sarcastically?”

Welcome to the modern workplace — where half the job is work, and the other half is asking ChatGPT to politely rewrite your frustration.

So, I decided to make a helpful list for all of us; where you can find different tone in several category

For e.g. - I am unavailable for personal trip for next 2 weeks

Straightforward but Polished
I will be unavailable for the next two weeks due to a personal trip.

Executive / Authoritative
Please note that I will remain unavailable for the next two weeks owing to personal travel commitments.

Journalistic / Reportorial
The individual will remain unavailable for a period of two weeks due to personal travel plans.

Claude  - Basics

Let me introduce you with Claude, if you haven’t yet started.

Here's how it looks when you first login;

Claude FrontEnd

Most of things are similar like projects, chat etc. to ChatGPT; Some terminology differs; for example, any output file is called an Artifacts

It has 1 feature which is completely different i.e. Skills (I have written about it last year- read here). Additionally, you can have Connectors and Plug-Ins, which I will cover in my coming experiments:

Claude Customize

Lastly, the input port also have almost all functionality to similar CHATGPT and you can see different skills I have created for myself

Claude Input Port

The goal of today's Claude basics was simply to give you a familiar starting point.

 Try Out this Week

  • Try using difference function in your prompt deliberately

  • Dowloand Tone file for your next week's office emails

  • Start using Claude
